Re: Musical instruments
Now that's what it means to be able to play a musical instrument. Bravo!
Just saw this, and am listening to it now. Other than the occasional tuning issue (which I understand must be ridiculous to deal with on technical pieces on a stringed instrument), it sounds fantastic . How'd you do in the competition, because it sounds like an honorable mention at the very, very leastAlphastorm wrote: I am a cellist. I just had a competition last week, and by chance I had my Dad record it. You can see it here if you're interested: http://youtu.be/k7qM4BjLG90
Sorry to hear that, but know that you really did play really well. Yeah though, Haydn is definitely classical XDAlphastorm wrote:I didn't win this competition unfortunately . The winner gets to play their concerto accompanied the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, and this year the winner was a Tuba. Anyways, the piece is the 3rd movement of the Haydn Cello Concerto in D major. It is definitely a classical piece.
This sounds like funAlphastorm wrote: To all the other musicians of this community, we can do more than just form a virtual band. We can write our own music incorporating all the instruments, woodwinds, brass, strings, piano, percussion, and whatever else people in these forums play! Together we can create the ultimate Unofficial Limit Theory Soundtrack! Now that would be badass!
Ah! I worked with a Cellist on the first movement of this concerto last year, it's a lot of fun. Man, what is it with Tubas! We had a Tuba player at my school that won a concerto competition I played in. No offense to Tubas, but to be honest I didn't realize they had that much in the way of concerto material. I must be missing out.Alphastorm wrote:I didn't win this competition unfortunately . I'm imagining something like the Doctor Who Fan OrchestraAlphastorm wrote: To all the other musicians of this community, we can do more than just form a virtual band. Wow, stunning, thanks for sharing By far my favorite instrument, just can't get enough of those sweet tones. I am determined to get one and see where it goes post-LT-release. Your performance has re-excited me. You really seem to enjoy it!Alphastorm wrote:I am a cellist. I just had a competition last week, and by chance I had my Dad record it. Winter's bad for pianists too. Your fingers freeze up so you can't move them well.Vartul wrote:I play the flute. Which makes me hate winters. Have a bad cold and can't play.
HappyGhecko wrote:well i played flute in elementary, then i learned a bit of swordfighting and completly lost any interest in playing musical instruments
