Limit Theory Lore

#1
Its 2547 and its New Years Day on New Haven, Its Orbital cycle around its star is almost as close to Earths with the exception of 23 extra days, Its been 1 year since the peace treaty has been signed, 5 years....5 long, terrible years. That's how long it took for the United Colonies of Earth to fall....

But before we get to that, we must begin the story of where it all started....

In the year of 2253, Humans finally achieved there greatest accomplishment, they finally left their home, the Sol System. No human has ever left the system before now, and survived. The secret to there success was the perfection of cryosleep and especially of the perfection of a non-lethal cocktail of drugs. The explorers would inject themselves with the cocktail to keep themselves from not passing out when out of cryosleep, due to the extreme G forces of the engines. Other expeditions failed due to faulty prototypes of the first cryochambers, where they vented liquid nitrogen onto the helpless explorers in there sleep, Premature awakening of the crew and countless breakdowns. Eventually, 20 years later, the crew finally reached and landed on the First Exo-system Planet. The reports from earths satellite telescopes depicted an earth like planet in there pictures, with green covering it. Astrologist's argued during that 20 years that it was just algae covered oceans. But the crew, were stunned to find, a new home, a new Eden....A New Haven.

150 years later, 2403, Countless super colony ships, carrying 50,000 people each. Along with Biocells, that carried the genetic codes of long extinct animals and plants like the wolf, parrots, lions, elephants. Biocells were truly one of the greatest achievements of Man, they could grow anything in them, all they needed was DNA. Over time New haven became just another colony to mother earth. The population of Earth and her neighbors Mars, Titan, Europa and many smaller moons. Were reaching there breaking limit of almost 500 billion people. Earth no longer had room for fields for growing food and Only 2 places were truly the breadbasket of mankind, Ganymede and New Haven. Ganymede's surface was covered in mega glass domes filled with orchards, wheat, barley, everything to sustain mankind. New Haven was a paradise world and the citizens of NH wanted to keep it that way....

57 years earlier, 2346, A physicist named Willem Shaw, created a blueprint of an engine capable of instantaneous travel, using his theoretical idea he dubbed "Limited Theory" where if he had hydrogen in its super-critical fluid state and the newly discovered element Altchite and put it in its Quark-Gluon Plasma State. In order to achieve these states of matter he would have to put the hydrogen at immense pressures where the distinction of liquid and gas is non-existent and For Quark-Gluon Plasma, he would need a particle accelerator. He'd then would would need to collide the QGP Altchite particles with the SCF hydrogen and once those two collided, it would create a Color-Glass Condensate. In Theory, it would open a hole in space and create a pathway for instantaneous travel, but with a maximum distance of only 30,000 Light years...Hence the name of Limited Theory. But his plans never came to fruition, his ship mysteriously vanished.

124 years later, 2527. The relationship between The Sol system and The New Haven system were straining. Tempers were rising, Earth was creating the first system to system Highway, with gravgates that used gravity generators to speed ships faster and faster as they passed each new gate. With this new "space" highway, as people had started calling it, The people of earth could now migrate to a fresh new place, with fresh resources. With this information, the citizens of New Haven had enough, they did not want there new world to become the same, industrialized, polluted and over exploited world that Earth had become. NH, finally declared war. Outnumbered and outgunned from the start, the NH forces were wiped out and destroyed battle after battle. After a year, the New Haven Defense fleet had only 7 ships left from the 10,000 they had earlier that year. After several months of no combat, one of the last destroyers of the fleet came into contact with a derelict ship that looked over 100 years old. Aboard they found a man inside a cryochamber, once they opened it, the man awakened.......and stated his name was Willem Shaw.

14 years later, 2541, after the first year of the war in 2527, the war turned into a stalemate. No major conflicts happened during those years, just minor skirmishes. Earth continued its advance, but kept its advance in line with the speed of the construction of the space highway, slowly the highway was nearing New Haven, closer every year. The New Haven Defense fleet used this time to rebuild their lost ships. The new haven shipyards churned out 80 frigates, 49 destroyers, and 1 carrier. The NHDF still was too weak compared to the immense navy that the UCEF(United Colonies of Earth Fleet) had at its disposal, which reached almost 500,000 ships. But in that 14 years, the NHDF gave everything they had at there disposal to Willem Shaw. Shaw even stated that he knew earths plans long ago, even though back then they were just jest's and jokes in the political field, for he knew the day was coming, which is the reason why he disappeared and had to help New Haven. In that time, Shaw became System Science General, which is the highest civilian rank a person in the scientific field can acquire in New Haven. In those 14 years, Shaw created the WayGate, the equipment needed for the reactions to create a hole were too big and cumbersome for a ship....except one. That one ship, was a carrier. It did not carry any fighters just another WayGate.

1 year later, 2542, everything was set. The WayGate was Operational. The last ships of the NHDF, which numbered to 200 ships, mainly fighters and bombers, were readying to go through the WayGate. There destination was not the UCEF or Earth but a much more important target.....Ganymede. Once the NHDF fleet arrived uncontested at Ganymede, it was a slaughter. The red beams of lasers from the ships burned bright blue from being overcharged. The lasers, instantaneously hit home, they burned and sliced through the reinforced glass panes of the mega domes. Atmosphere, plants, animals and people vented through the massive holes, freezing to death instantly. The breadbasket of the Sol System, was destroyed in minutes. The carrier unloaded the WayGate and Opened it. There destination was neither the enemy fleet or earth, but home, New Haven. Once the New Haven fleet entered the WayGate and everyone was through. Thirteen nuclear warheads detonated, destroying the WayGate, along with a quarter of Ganymede's Surface, Vaporizing anyone who survived the attack. Once Earth heard of the tragedy at Ganymede, it recalled its fleet, for they did not have the technology to defend against Instantaneous travel, eventually they signed a truce. Still Earth vowed revenge but the United Colonies of Earth slowly crumbled, for it lost its main source of food production. Yes, Earth had Algae farms to feed people but it was not enough. 5 years later the peace treaty was signed and with it New Haven became the new seat of Man. It was a bitter victory, for the New Haveners knew that they committed the largest atrocity in the history of man, almost 480 billion died from starvation in those 5 years, 5 long terrible years.....

Hope you guys like it, I was eating breakfast and this great story popped into my head. So I had to write it down.

Supercritical fluids, Quark-Gluon Plasma and Color-Glass Condensate are REAL states of matter. There is a TON more states of matter than, solids, liquids and Gas.

Quite difficult too do.
Sure, for any ordinary person? For Josh Parnell?

pffft. I'll bet my house he can do it in less than an hour.
You have disobeyed God. Now you must pay the consequence.

...and then we end up with Mad Libs, Limit Theory Edition.

Hahaha!

Anyhow, I hope you guys like it! Spent half of my sunday writing it! I tried to implement features from the game like tradelanes and HyperGates!
