This Mod for LucasArts' X-Wing looks amazing.
It requires you own the actual game, but that can be had on GoG or Steam for a few bucks.

Huh... that's exactly what I'm doing for I-War 2. At least this way I can watch them and see if some sort of legal action from whoever owns the rights to the game proves this sort of adventure to be a horrible idea.

That is impressive, I hope they do the same treatment for TieFighter, which was by FAR the superior game.

Since it requires ownership of the original game, I'm thinking they probably won't get a cease-and-desist? Not sure if they can be forced to stop or not.IronDuke wrote:Huh... that's exactly what I'm doing for I-War 2. Else Mods would never be able to exist.
This is on a grander scale than many mods, but none-the-less it's technically a mod. :V

So long as they are not distributing original copyrighted data, its pretty hard to sue.Arclite wrote:Since it requires ownership of the original game, I'm thinking they probably won't get a cease-and-desist? Also, I don't think you have anything to worry about. I-War isn't owned by a major IP like Disney/LucasArts looking to protect itself.

Do you have a vid you can throw up on Youtube?IronDuke wrote:Huh... that's exactly what I'm doing for I-War 2.

Also, the I-War rights are owned by Atari.

No videos yet; I'm still working on the absolute basics, like making something go forwards. When I get far enough I'll definitely produce a few videos.Arclite wrote:Do you have a vid you can throw up on Youtube?IronDuke wrote:Huh... that's exactly what I'm doing for I-War 2.

Re: X-Wing Unity Mod
Hey all, one of the beta testers posted a video with a ton of cap ship battles.
A lot of work has been done on the cockpit since the last vid I saw, and it's looking pretty amazing. I'm really looking forward to this mod being done so I can play through this again.
I really wonder what this looks like with a VR headset on...

Re: X-Wing Unity Mod
This is pretty darn awesome. I really want to see what else they can do with it like giant battles / more beautiful graphics / other ships.
