So, the two main suggestions I've done so far are Dynamic Destruction and Faction Shipyards, which can also be found in the suggestions thread. Some of my other ideas are as follows:
Nano-bots or a self repair turret that can be used to heal your ship (and can mean that, even if your engine is destroyed, you could still make a comeback, fix your engine and either get out of there or fight back).
Self-replicating drones/ships - they find an asteroid that has a resource they need, mine it, and can then construct a copy of themselves, which will then find another resource and copy itself again, and they will copy themselves, and so on.
Mobile shipyard - not sure if this would be possible, perhaps. A mobile shipyard that can warp to other systems to find new resources to make its ships.
Carriers - will huge ships be able to carry your ship, and multiple other ships, in it as a transport? Or is that not planned for LT 1.0?
Drone Hangars - if drones follow you everywhere, that would look a little like a bunch of fish after feed, so how about your ship being able to store drones inside hangars?
Weapon groups - large ships have large amounts of weapons, so to prevent having to switch them on and assign them a target one by one, assign them groups (maybe with keybinds) that will make it easier to manage massive arrays of different types of weapons, but won't make ALL your turrets just able to shoot at one ship at a time (cause you can assign different ships to different groups).
News - maybe there could be news boards at stations, saying things like "This faction have signed a treaty with that faction" or "This faction have declared war on that faction". This could make for opportunities for you to buy up certain resources at low prices and sell them to factions engaged in war that will value them at much more, thus earning you a profit. The billboards could also be used as advertisement boards, maybe, that display procedural advertisements for corporations and jobs...
Procedural cities - If we're able to explore planets in LT, then obviously there should be procedural cities on inhabited ones, preferably with some interesting design variants. Also, there should be landing pads and docking areas for ships that land there.
Space Roads - designated "paths" for large convoys to travel between systems or around a system.
EDIT: Giant stations dedicated for mining, megafacilities/factories - if planned for the game, great :}
EDIT: Scrapyards, large/giant stations or facilities designed to hold and ultimately sell off or recycle old ships.
EDIT: A colonization ship - a type/class/whatever of ship that is made to go out and seek uncolonized worlds that are good for habitation. It's an idea. As if the megastations/facilities haven't brought up enough discussion lately
