I would consider that alpha. Beta would be something a bit further along in development. Maybe simple multiplayer where people can connect to a server and build together.

Pre-alpha actually.

Simply getting to Alpha is awhile out.
Multiplayer is already in (typically is with these sorts of things, as it's quite low level code and defines a BUNCH of how you do your game code)
But getting to alpha, let alone beta, will require a lot of work.
This is another single man game, only he has people testing with him, unlike Josh.
