Quit a neat thread
that flew over my head
missing this one
i should be shunned
here i am to keep my cred
There is one that all code fears
on this forum he is revered
Josh is his name
building his game
trying to further his career

Re: The limerick challenge
The problem with lexical billables,
Is matching up poetic syllables.
While most do their part,
And speak from the heart,
Others use obvious and witless irony.

Nice ones!
This thread is taking on a life of its own.
Thanks for the kind words, Victor.
I kind of miss those early days in the Kickstarter project.
And now, on the sunday july 28 devlog:
If you ever experience one of those dips
like open GL giving texture clips
You can get your high back
by eating a snack
like Ruffles Cheddar and Sour cream chips.
Bon Appétit, Josh.

Re: The limerick challenge
I'd make it Spaced Poet. =)
On the FRONTIERS forum we were "discussing" the political correctness of ranks like "journeyman" so one user ended up being a "Journeyperson, female".

There is no "I" in Tea. That would be gross.

But now you've gone and made me hungry for those chips...sadly I don't have any in stock (they're dangerous, you know) and there's nowhere I can get them at this hour....help!!!

Re: The limerick challenge
As soon as Josh gets into his "techie-mode" writing (amongst insiders also known as his "high-tech semi-philosophical twin turbo-math where-are-my-pills rip-that-code graphic trouble shooting modus") , he usually loses me right after the "SUMMARY" bit of the devlog.
Cant be helped..
My knowledge of high end math is equal to the knowledge that escargots have of playing the ukulele.
I am just guessing here but I think I am not alone in this.
Fortunately Josh recognises that problem in his August 13th devlog.
The light blue bit is a direct quote from Josh:
Now unless you're a nerd or a dweeb,
here's a piece of advice you should keep
when Josh writes his stuff
and your brain has had enough
Yep, you know the drill. Skip it or weep.
Seriously though, I think the devlog is a great service to your backers Josh!

Thoroughly enjoyed your latest contribution as I can relate so well to its content. Thanks for making me chuckle yet again.
Re: The limerick challenge
You are definitely not alone in your mystification when it comes to the more esoteric writings in the Dev Logs Rembrandt. Unfortunately, I have a tendency to ignore the warnings given by Josh to my detriment in the form of head pain.Rembrandt wrote:As soon as Josh gets into his "techie-mode" writing (amongst insiders also known as his "high-tech semi-philosophical twin turbo-math where-are-my-pills rip-that-code graphic trouble shooting modus") , he usually loses me right after the "SUMMARY" bit of the devlog.

Re: The limerick challenge
About the october 9th devlog:
since before even time begun
chaos did allready run
a form of digital code.
The big bang did explode
on the sequence: 1 1 0 1 0 1

Been a while since we've seen a limerick! Maybe my dev logs these days aren't providing enough source material

The devlogs have been as entertaining as ever.
I just didn't have any internet acces for a few weeks.
Quite a refreshing experience by the way.
Well, at least it was, after the shaking hands, splitting headaches and the sweating stopped..

All freshened up by a few weeks no internet, sitting around campfires, smoking Arturo Fuente cigars and sipping single malt.
about the oct 12th devlog:
Its only a matter of size
and all for a reasonable price.
from the size of a peanut to the hoover dam
says my email inbox (which is full of spam).
But even Josh says they are no lies.

Re: The limerick challenge
A name full of nothing but vowels
might read a little bit foul.
With code phonotactics
as good as the graphics,
our names are as strong as a dowel.
(I hope it's a strong dowel, because otherwise that simile tortured for a rhyme would be worthless.)
