Its a trap.
1) Convenient cave collapse
2) Convenient force field
3) Convenient threat from the other end of the tunnel
The only reason we have not been attacked yet is probably because tal is giving us a second to prepare our defence. ( I think. )

Now, we see movement near the cave in. Apparently those things came out to investigate the collapse.
Re: Squad 2 discussion
If this were a trap, we would have been attacked after we first passed the lights. As is is, we passed the lights, stopped for a cave-in, and then left.Triggerhappy wrote:Its a trap.

Re: Squad 2 discussion
Thats a quote from Dak's post.As the last of your group passes the first set of vertical, glowing bar lights, the two on the end shift their color to a bright cyan. A blue, shimmery field appears between them, and you wonder if it's a shield. It might be. You're not sure. It doesn't look all that solid. It's more of a gossamer thing. You do see something moving near the rubble pile up ahead - something shadowy. You get the feeling it might be hostile.
"Guys, I think we might have company," you warn, trying to get a better view. But it's no good. It's simply too dark.
Hint hint? You get the feeling it might be hostile.

I think we should step back and look at this situation instead of continuing this silly argument.
As Fawkes pointed out on IRC, the lights turned cyan when Unit got to them. That's also when the blue field appeared.
When we passed them, they turned red. It appears that they may be scanning us somehow. It's fairly obvious that they know what we are.

"Might" does not mean that they're hostile, Trigger.Triggerhappy wrote:Thats a quote from Dak's post.As the last of your group passes the first set of vertical, glowing bar lights, the two on the end shift their color to a bright cyan. Re: Squad 2 discussion
If it's possible to pass through the shield, we should not anyway. It may result in our squad being cut into two parts.
What we SHOULD do is see how our new friend got through the cave-in, and if we can sue the same path.

Re: Squad 2 discussion
We wouldn't split up out squad for that. We'd go through together. And we don't know if those things came through the cave-in. We even know for sure what they are right now.Triggerhappy wrote:If it's possible to pass through the shield, we should not anyway. It may result in our squad being cut into two parts.

Re: Squad 2 discussion
...well, its likely they came from the cave-in, as we so no other entrances, and whatever they are, I'm sure we can kill them and follow whatever hole they came from back to their source.Hema wrote:We wouldn't split up out squad for that. As far as we know from reading the other squad updates...the creatures might be made of the cave in material

Re: Squad 2 discussion
And my roll was probably terrible enough that we all end up dead.
The results of logic, of natural progression? Boring! An expected result? Dull! An obvious next step? Pfui! Where is the fun in that? A dream may soothe, but our nightmares make us run!
