I stumbled across some nice singularity effect used in game Space Engine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaD6F5Sx_uw
While i dont know how difficult would it be, to implement this into LT, i thought it would be a nice thing to have. If there is some cheap way to implement this effect, it could be used for singularity weapons (firing mini black holes). That would be awesome

Re: Singularity effect
Crysis has a similar effect, too. It does look really pretty, but I'm not sure it's going to make it into LT 1.0... It looks like it'd be a bit difficult to make. If we could find somewhere where it told how to implement it, though, that might be a different story.

Re: Singularity effect
Actually its pretty simple effect, It contains one camera facing billboard (two triangles) with a shader that is 100% transparent and uses only normal map to make view behind the billboard to distort. For this particular case map is radial gradient.

Huh, it's that simple? o.O Nice.vfxguy wrote:Actually its pretty simple effect, It contains one camera facing billboard (two triangles) with a shader that is 100% transparent and uses only normal map to make view behind the billboard to distort. For this particular case map is radial gradient.
