Re: Stardust/Spacedust
Ohhh, I can imagine it already In a system where an asteroid passed through a while ago (Because of Story/Event/Generation of the system or just out of fun ). There's a battle between some pirates and a Trader's escorts. With every shot of their energy weapons, everywhere along the path would dust-particles reflect an impressive light-show.
Aside from that...depending on the density of the dusty space, one could surely implement some hiding mechanics or something

Apparently, sometimes stuff might happen.

Sounds like something that would pair well with the searchlight expansion. Or, you could find a way to harvest these particles. Because they're both dispersed and only detectable by a spotlight, they could contain all manner of small or rare items. Maybe a thumb-drive containing a blueprint or a map. Maybe it's a gas-type resource.
Or, if you don't want to make the game more complicated than it is, you could use the illuminated particles to help aim the searchlights.

We noticed that this thread got a little side-tracked into a conversation about eating spaghetti with a spoon. We do enjoy our fair share of italian food, but please remember to keep discussion on-topic when posting on the forums.
