Well, the concept of fighters in space is quite ridiculous to begin with.
A lightly armored flying bomb is incredibly easy to hit (with realistic weapons) and heavy armor defeats the purpose.
So let's not even go there.

In a universe where solar systems are basically pocket dimensions, and planets neither rotate nor orbit their primary star because gravity doesn't exist (but inertia does!), laser-evading fighter ships is not even a blip on my Outrage Radar. ;)

That said, while I'm enjoying the variety of wings, I'm starting to get curious about possible fuselage shapes.

Some possibilities (taken from MegaTraveller just as a starting point for ideas):

  • Open Frame
  • Needle/Wedge
  • Cone
  • Cylinder
  • Box
  • Sphere
  • Dome/Disk
  • Irregular

Sure would be interesting to see some disk-shaped fuselages mated to narrow wings on pylons....

Today's ships: https://imgur.com/a/BSFiq
Added a new wing type. ;0
"Oh Wow", or variations on either word at random times were my comments on the latest ships.
Well done Lindsey, there are 3 types I do love, mostly because they're not the normal type of wings we're used to seeing in conventional space games.

This one could be a reconnaisance drone/ scanner, those vertical bits could be antennae, with secondary/ alternate probing via the angular veins

This is most unusual, and it could be a shield drone?

This one could be a parabolic receiver for incoming missiles, causing them to misalign to their target
(yeah, being creative with Mexican Sweet Chipotle crips)

These guys are getting close to the Caldari mode, albeit we need some diffusion between the wings to make them more Caldari-ish

And the rest, wow, opening them in their own browser window is the only way to do them justice.

Looking forward to seeing bigger ships :)
