I see white and gold, I can understand how one might think one of the colours is blue, but I can't see how one might think the other is black

But I do understand it's a white balance issue and will settle for knowing it's blue and black

I have literally stared at that image for minutes at at a time trying to find a hint of white or gold, and come up blank.

Same here for black this saddens me

Naturally, what I saw -- light blue and orange -- is not one of the available choices.

I am with you there, how is the yellow supposed to be black? Should I take to Gimp and dice up sections of this that seem to convince me of the white and gold color?

are we going to talk about the original dress? . the issue with the picture circulated is a ludecrus amount of white balance and maybe even a cheap cell phone filter.

I think we all agree that the dress itself is black and blue, it's more a matter of what we see in the picture, and why we don't all see the same thing

Even knowing the whole blue black combo I still see Blue and gold in the original pic.

Yes, the dress is the same color on both sides, use color picker in a photo editor to compare.

I've been staring at it for days, it looks black and blue in terrible lighting. Can't even fathom how this is white and gold to someone. Might be the bad screen on this laptop, might be my eyes having auto wb correction... >.>

Always seen blue and black here. The fact that there's a bright comparable background means I cannot see that as a white/gold dress in a blue light because it's quite obviously a strong yellow/white light.

I guess that means my eyes are little, spherical cretins. I'm trying really hard to see it as a dress illuminated in annoyingly yellow light, and it's not working

If you see it as white and gold, you're missing some blue cone cells in your eyes.

It's blue and black. No question.
