Realistically, though, asymmetrical ships would be a pain to build because they'd be a pain to turn - your center of mass is off balance. Given enough asymmetry, you might as well always turn in one direction, because you'll essentially be pivoting around one point. (even though that's really all turning in space is, but you get the picture - like a door instead of a seesaw.)

Thats only dependent on how you place your thrusters.

If you place them behind your balace point you fly straight.
