But Sheva correctly points out that many of those values are inconsistent, and were sometimes just treknobabble invented for plot purposes. Saquist in fact mentions the "plot armor" that the hero ships (Ent-D, Defiant, Voyager) magically carry where a similar ship of that class would have been toast -- that makes it considerably harder to find reasonable numbers for all the systems of all ships.
activating plot armor!

I see the comparison to the defiant. The defiant was stupidly OP but because of this was literally slowly being torn apart as it fought, with the "structural integrity fields" having to be constantly boosted.

I had a similar idea for my dreamship, but that's something that doesn't fit in a game, mainly because the mechanics won't exist; A portal inside the ship to a facility on a planet, from which the entire ship is powered by cabling lain through the portal. Also eliminates the need for cargo space as you could just walk through. The ship's main weakness would be losing its supporting planet (or maybe it has to stay within portal range of any planet with a facility like that, which would limit your exploration radius)
Ultimately I opted out of that. Unlimited power in a ship is no fun gameplay wise.

So... Image if they had ever gotten the plot off the ground?
