I asked this before in a poll, but because we now have a lot more members than the previous poll and we now have a relevant section, I will ask this again.

What flavour of Linux are people using atm?

I have tried Ubuntu 14 on my hexacore rig, but the SSD it's installed on is so slow to do anything (I think the ssd is to blame)
So I'm about to upgrade both the hard drive and O/S to Netrunner and a Transcend SSD320.

When it comes to Linux, I usually prefer Gentoo. It's come a long way since I started using it 12 years ago (damn, it really has been that long!).

Near future:
Windows, because I think the Linux drivers for my Radeon HD 6670 are still a bit inferior and with a HD 6670, I don't have that much performance to waste.

Later, I'd love to run it on some variety of Linux

Near future:
GNU/Linux Mint, because i have it installed and use it far too less because of gaming ._.

Far future:
Whatever makes my then new broadwell+DDR4+whatever AMD card is then current run best xD
Most likely still Mint because this stupid fenster OS eats up resources for nothing ._.

I think you have just described my next PC, sometime in 2015/2016.

That is, unless AMD makes a convincing comeback in CPUs - they claim to have a hot new architecture in the making.
