The prototype is out now and even if you don't actively hunt for bugs, there is a small thing you can do to help.

Go to the User Control Panel (yes, this is a link) and fill in the information for

My Computer Specs:

No worries - only admins and moderators can see that information.
Knowing what hardware the players use is very important and if this info is only a single click away, it becomes a lot easier to see performance issues or crashes in the proper context.

Mine looks like...

• Win 7 Professional, 64 bit, 4 GB RAM,
  NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560,
  Intel Q6600

No need to write an essay or list every hard disk in your computer. We'll just assume that you have some device to install the game on. =)

How do you find out what your computer specs are if you're not so tech savvy?


On Windows 7 (and some other) systems you should have a "My Computer" icon on the desktop. Right-click it and select properties.
Now you can see:

• Operating system. (like Windows 7 Professional)
• Type of system. (32 or 64 bit)
• Installed memory. (like 4,00 GB)

On this window you should also have an entry for "Device Manager" on the top left.
If you click that, you can look up your

• Graphics Card.
  Very important.

If you want to score extra boy scout points you can also add a link to your DXDiag.txt if you have posted it somewhere on the internetz.

A generic listing like that is never more than a general guideline. Which details will then be necessary depends on the actual case...

Perhaps people would be willing to opt-in to an automated survey through the prototype?

Something that would list hardware, temperature when playing, fps, disk I/O... Stuff like that?
