Those are superb images, Hyperion. :D I'd be happy to see stations of that quality but I'm doubtful if the LT Team can deliver. We can only hope that the algorithm(s) created will be a lot more advanced than those we have seen so far. :angel:

:shifty: I'm still not convinced that procedural can deliver.

Hyper's probably the only one that could've pulled it off with such style, too. :D He did mention that it was tough finding "enough" pictures, though. Apparently people aren't nearly as creative with stations as they are with ships.

Aye, so many rings and space mushrooms, or Deep Space Nine Clones... Had to go to Deviant Art to get some more interesting variety :p

And even then, i'm not satisfied with this set. There's so much unused potential geometry in space stations. Hopefully LT will blow them all out of the water :D :geek:

I am a bit disappointed with the general lack of variety that most stations do have. It makes me want to mess around with Lego and try to come up with an interesting design that isn't spherical or circular. Hexagonal perhaps.

Well i did include the second one, the image is small though. yes, i did forget the death star, but the death star is boring looking, and besides, everyone knows the death star, no need to present it :p

that is no station... thats a lucrehulk droid command carrier, its pretty mobile in fact :P
(in hyper its as fast as an ISD1 even)


also: hexagonal? pyramids? decide :V


and a couple of hyper's images are in fact ships (from eve online and endless space the two i can recall ad-hoc)

industrial stations dont need gravity, though.

and depending on who lives there they probably dont want gravity there either :V

Maybe in reality the Enterprise is constantly accelerating upwards, actually moving in a "helix motion".
That would create gravity.
