I have to duck out of the IRC when it starts getting too overwhelming, Lum.
But you don't have to say much, or anything at all. It's still an interesting experience.

Re: AutoJosh
I suppose you're right. I had my fair share of IRC in my younger days of the Internet and sort of got tired of it. I'll give it a shot if I have the time

Re: AutoJosh
I wonder if AutoJosh will come by and visit us for a bit. It would be nice if Josh could share just a little information about Limit Theory.

If I were AutoJosh right now I would start spewing out some code snippets of limit theory

That's probably why you're not AutoJosh.Slymodi wrote:If I were AutoJosh right now I would start spewing out some code snippets of limit theory

Re: AutoJosh
I'm not actually sure Josh's bot even exists yet. I think he just made the account.

Re: AutoJosh
Since it hasn't been online after three hours since it was made, it either doesn't exist or isn't running, yes.

Seems AutoJosh' modus operandi is letting poor Tal do all the work

Re: AutoJosh
pure speculation but that avatar looks like a visualization of something.
My guess:
listed is each user, or each day - positive posts appear as blue dots, negative ones as red. Confidence denoted by darkness vs brightness.
easily done with "sentiment" api's, used by some to gauge social media responses, etc.
Preparing to give information and gauge the response?
Problems: Noticed in August, still no announcements.
2nd theory:
each poster, human posts as blue dots, possible spam as red. Confidence denoted by darkness vs brightness.
Problems: I've never encountered spam here so this would seem pointless.

adds to this notion in my opinion. It has basically logged this as 'allegiance ' or still interested in the project.AutoJosh wrote:Your loyalty and allegiance has been noted, Silverware.Silverware wrote:~ Thus Josh sent forth his only son AutoJosh, to banish the heretical SpamBots, to bring order amongst the Church of Procedural, and to provide insightful comments.

My "theory": since the thing hasn't logged in since the account was made, it does nothing and isn't even coded (since you can't code without testing, and you can't test without logging in.)
Re: AutoJosh
We get a ton of spam, it just gets removed quickly. By Tal. Who would be more than glad if this bot did it instead, but it doesn't.Chunjee wrote: I've never encountered spam here so this would seem pointless.

yes my 3rd theory is the saddest:
seemed like a good idea on the weekend, never went anywhere.
