To clarify this, (because when I first discovered this over a year ago, I was a tad upset), we will still be able to own ships and give them commands, we will still be able to hire the limited AI crew to man our ships and to man certain systems (like guns) on larger ships.BFett wrote:
The majority of features included with player based factions will come in a patch which will occur post release. But in the initial release of the game we should be able to interact with other factions and manage our personal assets in the LT universe.
The only thing Josh said won't (or probably won't) make LT 1.0 is the actually management of a faction by a player. This means we won't have the "full smart" AI units joining our faction and becoming generals and what not. It's understandable if you think about it, It actually a crazy complex system manging a factions and dealing with underlings.
Because the player can own stations, and ships. They can't sort of build their own faction anyways, just not officially and without the abilities of the AI full factions.
Another thing that may not make LT 1.0 is planet owner ship.
Of course this is ALL based on some pretty old info at this point. We pretty much and no idea what Josh has been doing for the last year, so who knows.
