Hi,
As your kickstarter target was exceeded by $137,865 I assume that one or two extra staff members will be hired, perhaps taking on multiple duties? I can't see the quality of the content being maintained otherwise.
I'm thinking of the boredom of Frontier: Elite II (I still enjoyed it, but it got boring). Frontier: First Encounters was better, because David Braben took on more staff.

Re: Project management
I heard somebody say that programming is like surgery. There has to be only one person working with the code, and the rest clean the sweat, bring the tools... I think it's a good analogy!
I think Josh doesn't need any of that backup. However, there are many tangentially related tasks that he might use some help with. Time will tell.
