And you me :squirrel: :squirrel:

I am secretly wishing for an x64/multi-thread version of this game... which the community asked for like 5 years ago, if not more.
Devs did reply that such a conversion would take years to perfection, not to mention that they could not know if the game would still be supported...
Heh :eh: -- Had they started work back then, the game would take proper advantage of modern hardware today.
And talk about uncertain support... They have since released the title on Steam and GOG, created 4 DLCs for it, and issued a vast amount of patches!
(... never trust what a dev says :problem: )

Barring the OST, of the 3 DLCs only Forbidden Worlds is so good that you cannot go wrong -- Just buy it.
The other 2 DLCs, Stellar Phenomena and Outlaw Sectors, are a hit or miss depending on how you perceived the vanilla game.
Naturally this implies that you first taste the base game.
You may like the 2 DLCs because you think that they improve on vanilla -OR- You may hate them for bringing sensible changes to a gameplay you liked as-is.
There is a reason if among the positive reviews most recommend the 2 DLCs only if discounted.

Regardless, the vanilla game is lotta fun by itself. Trust the fox and be in no rush to buy all DLCs.

Someone would say:

Outcast - Second Contact is free right now, get it now and keep it forever. :D

Well... it is not actually a Steam-key, though, but the download of the DRM-free version of the game -- 5.9 GB
You can choose either a Direct Download from Humble Bundle or a Torrent.
The latter is being pretty fast; downloading at 8.8 MB/s on average as we speak.

Curated store with a bigger cut for the devs (88% vs 70% on steam) and if the game is made in Unreal Engine, Epic takes the normal royalty cut from their share (the aforementioned 12%)

Here is their blog post on the subject : https://www.epicgames.com/store/en-US/n ... s-now-live

Thanks, much appreciated.
Understandably they need some bait to attract the initial userbase
They will probably keep the promise of 1-free-game-every-2-weeks, but that means 26 free games per year and I do not see it lasting [, past 2019].

It will be interesting to see how it develops :)
