So, yeah, I stumbled across this while reading Rock Paper Shotgun. Long story short, I bought a copy and HAVEN'T STOPPED PLAYING IT SINCE.
I can heartily recommend it, it's a roguelike/4X strategy/RPG. Basically, there's some kind of magical apocalypse and you're given a village filled with low level chumps and you have to survive.
'Tis mostly procedurally generated, with the computer rolling a squillion die behind the scenes then unleashing hordes of gibbering monsters at you. It's not easy, but it's certainly compelling.
I score it 5 squirrels out of 5.

Re: Thea: The Awakening
I've had my eye on this as well. The problem is... there are so many games and so little time... ugh.
The concept interests me enough that I'll probably pick it up from a sale later.

It goes on the list, I'll pick it up over the holidays perhaps.
