Hey folks, here's an hour of video posted by a Star Citizen beta tester.
Thanks for this, Arclite. The more I see of the game the more I know I made the right choice in heavily investing in the Chris vision. :D

I kinda feel like CIG doesn't know what to do with the 300 series, having it sit there, mostly broken, for four-ish years, and nerfing it to the ground in the process. I just noticed that the three base models now aren't even compatible with each other anymore, it's really painful. I know I didn't pledge much, but I'd like to play as well at some point (and no, I'm not spending more or melting my promised space BMW).

i wish the fancy "beautiful" space BMW would look a lot better and would have an actual luxury entry :V
because having to climb a ladder into a space where you have to crouch isnt luxurious by any means

I feel and share your disappointment Cornflakes. :(

I'm rather pleased with myself at the moment as I haven't been seduced into adding anything else to my hangar. :)

 Maybe it's a bit too early to be smug about my self-control though. *chuckle*

Word. They could probably cut a bit on those stilt-like gears (since the craft is probably thrusty enough for VTOL anyway) and implement a non-ladder solution. And the internal space is Russian at best :D But it would need a much harsher redesign anyway, to house cargo pods seamlessly, and to actually act like a long-range exploration home without all that dead space in the airlock, and more than two square meters of living area. The brochure just promised too much at launch, and now we're stuck with a ship that is too small and probably sold too cheaply if CIG is to keep the original role and scope. I just hope they are going to do the nicer thing and upgrade it into something decent, instead of going 'eh it's a $60 starter, it's gonna suck. Swap to a Constellation ASAP'.

I don't mind the looks though. I actually enjoy the silhouette, including the wing. Maybe a bit smoother finish, less random panels, and finer gaps would help.

i actually dislike the wings the most in that thing.... i expected some slick silver dart with two turretlets from the original kickstarter description
with relatively simple, clear lines that say "fast"

Yes, I saw those, Cornflakes. :) It's an escort ship as far as I'm concerned. I suppose it's more useful than the Polaris (which I didn't add either). I'm unlikely to want to take part in those sort of fleet activities anyway. I really don't want to spend any more cash on that kind of asset. You know my fleet list. If I'm going to add one I need to do a melty on something. Any suggestions?

Edit: I won't be melting any "luxury" ships or anything that even hints at being decadent in function. I'm just hoping I can include banks of large fish tanks in the Javelin. ;)

Say 'boring polygon' more like :ghost: Bet you love the Cobra III too, huh?

sooo.... you didnt look at the second picture? :V
(the cobra looks shit, viper 4 lyfe)

the first one was for the general shape, sleek, clean surface, generally "fast"
found a better image, maybe with even stubbier and smaller wings and no rudder

its just that the 300i's visuals dont say anything of what the ship is supposed to be :ghost:

"we want the thing to look sleek and fast, how about we put a big wall perpendicular to the movement direction? :D"

Hmm...I've got all the varieties of the 300 series and to tell you the truth I've always liked the external visuals. I even pledged for an extra one to gift to a member because I thought it looked good. I didn't give much thought to what the ships were supposed to be.

Wasn't there some talk about the 300 series getting a makeover/rework?

from what i gathered that was detail work to bring the ships in line with how the origin art direction shifted. so overall the same but better texturing and changed details.
im not holding my breath on that one.

Yes, that does sound plausible. :)

I never take anything that Chris and Co say as gospel, Cornflakes, but where changes have been made to ships I own I've always been pleasantly surprised. The changes to the Idris were the most pleasant...so far.

They're now selling plots of land, and giant colony ships to land on said plots.

I've managed to avoid all the temptations to spend during the Anniversary Sale but I wobbled a little when they offered the pods for the Endeavor again. I've got the basic ship but at the time of the concept sale I couldn't decide which pods to add so I left it at that. I had the same problem this time around. HARMNET can add what they need in-game.
