Been playing a lot of Reassembly over the last week or so.
Man, I seem to spend 80% of my time in the game designing ships.
But really, it's pretty great so far. I'm sure I'll get bored eventually, but I already feel like I've gotten plenty of enjoyment in return to what I paid for it.

I'm a big fan of beams, too, only my ship is a little lighter. =)
For fleet ships I mostly go with Macross Missile Massacre.
Follower ships are too dumb to do much else. This way they can still hit something even if they can't navigate their way out of a wet paper bag.

Nah, Autocannon are king. Enough autocannon will shred anything like its made of wet tissue paper. The only downside is their (somewhat) limited range, but loading up on enough thrusters and shields will compensate for that.
