One of these days I will get the time to immerse myself in Oolite properly, Cody. Thanks for letting us know about the new release.

Oolite now supports 8K UHD - if anyone's got the kit, that is.

One of these days I will get the time...
Time is too slow for those who wait
And time is too swift for those who fear
Time is too long for those who grieve
And time is too short for those that laugh

Well... I suppose that's a challenge towards me. :V
Wife has already agreed to put aside money for half of it. So I may as well get a good kit. :3
Gotta wait and see what the 8K's are reviewed like though.
More pixels = more latency; generally.

This guy's manic, but he does 8K with four 4K monitors:

Linus Tech Tips! :D They do a lot of product pushing but it's a pretty awesome channel (and this is coming from a guy that doesn't regularly watch youtube :D )

<nods> I'm not a YT watcher either - how about 16K?

 That sort of gaming is way over the top for me. I like using quality components but I couldn't devote that sort of space to my gaming. It's fascinating to see though.

This does not look like the Oolite I remember playing years ago. Have they totally revamped the game or is this just a mod?

Not one of my pics, but the ship and nebulae are definitely mods. Mind you, the core ships are very similar, but lack shadery goodness. Core planets have been revamped though - see here.
