My inspiration for that type of story comes from the ancient Latin America history, several cultures as the Aztecs, Mayans and Incas mentioned contacts with beings as Viracocha, there are ancient monuments that point out gates to other places in the Universe like in Tihuanaco and Puma Punku. Very interesting archaeological places filled with awe and mystery.
Like the Gate of the Sun in Tiwanaku
Or the gate found in Ollantaytambo, Peru

Very cool! I've always been fascinated by these types of ruins. Personally, the Incas are my favorite of the three.

Oh yeah I am a Stargate fan, but even before Stargate came out I was already dreaming about it. I have had dreams in my youth where I was standing on a planet with tall towers very similar to those that appeared in Stargate. Spooky. Any how, keep reading the best is about to start wait to you see what they find beyond the door at the end of the left corridor.Cornflakes_91 wrote:Sounds like its heavily inspired by stargate (-atlantis) to me.
