Trigger here is search of a new laptop. Trigger has very little knowledge on said matter, and he got very lucky buying his current toaster, that has served him pretty well until now. Trigger also does not trust coworkers with such important decisions.
What I am looking for is something I can 1) play games on well, 2) something that can run linux without too much of a fight, and 3) something sturdy. Money is NOT too much of an issue, but I have no need for golden toasters. This would also be 4) something I can work on, aside from games.
I hope some of you high level computer people here can help a guy out.

Re: On Laptops
Try one of the more recent ASUS - Republic of Gamers Laptops (ASUS ROG), those are primarily set up for games and things. Dunno about Linux though.
Apparently, sometimes stuff might happen.

Re: On Laptops
For Linux, pick one with an Nvidia GPU, AMD's linux drivers are crap

there are no modern laptops with dedicated amd gpus.
only ones with integrated gpus.
and those are hardly suited for proper gaming.

Re: On Laptops
Well, Trigger is currently using Intel graphics, so doesn't hurt to mention it

Re: On Laptops
Looked at the ROG GX800VH (7th Gen Intel Core). Cried happy tears.
There are a lot of options here, most of them seem to have Nvidia GPU?
