I had my doubts about the ship design as well, but I loved the show for the first three seasons. Then it seemed like they ran out of ideas and I lost interest. Kind of like the last three seasons of Star Gate.

Agreed. Though for Andromeda it was really the fifth season that did me in. Sometimes sad when shows past their prime don't know when it's time to quit on a high note.

Agree with both of you Gunther and Katorone. Really enjoyed the first three seasons of Andromeda, wasn't that impressed by the fourth and felt cheated by the fifth.

I did like the ship though but I also like Fireball XL5 (as you are aware Gunther), Thunderbird 3 and a great many more ships which look like toys. The Tardis is awesome as far as I am concerned. Although I'm not sure if it qualifies.

Agreed. Andromeda got worse after season three, and it wasn't exactly the best sci-fi show I've ever seen before that either (though it had its moments).

I always found the ship in that show was never dynamic enough. It just sort of floated around, looking static and occasionally reusing tired footage of the battle mode "wings". No real sense of speed or power; and for something that was allegedly the most powerful thing in three galaxies, it got the crap kicked out of it on a regular basis.

Anyway, I always preferred this view of the Andromeda Ascendant:

TBH I've always had a soft spot for Trance Gemini. Andromeda is easy on the eyes, but cold, so cold sometimes. It's nice to see she's being typecasted in a bunch of Sci-Fi series though. V, stargate, Prime-eval, continuum.
