The end product of following one developers journey into (madness?) coding a game.
Don't care as much about the end product anymore compared to when I backed the game - the journey is probably more interesting than any game I've played.
I want to be able to explore - find old crashed ships/colonies and mine/harvest/research them for forgotten tech. Or find derelict ships in space you can repair taking on a huge endeavor but in the end you get a sick bigass battleship etc. Being a merciless space archaeologist would be a dream come ...
That being said - you should consider making a slimmed down version of the final LT for Linux that can be distributed freely, could be a 'flagship' Linux game bundled in many distributions :) LT is already slim at 3MB! How much more slimming down do you want? I didn't mention size but feature wise ...
Now that you have your LTSL running could you build a fixed space combat that can be used for CPU/GPU benchmarking across platforms? You could even release it sooner than the final product to drum up additional interest and it could be used to prepare compatibility outside Windows/Linux - FreeBSD/PC...
