Because you need an world version for every NPC (or at least faction)

A system like it was supposed for infinity: quest for earth would be nice:
Click on any star you can see out of your cockpit hit "engage" and you are en-route there, would even be compatible with the room system currenty in use

30secs would be way too short in my opinion. More like minutes or the time the ship needs to reach the forecasted target (imagine the vector leads staight to an station, after the projected time the tagret needs to reach the station the information is worthless) the memory requrements shouldnt be to...

Almost done, but many many small things need optimisation.
Its done when its done
(But i assume it gets nearer ^^)

I thought of the optics thing as obvious ^^

I'd suggest something in the general direction of the system of x rebirth
Many modules with standardized interconnects with specific functions each that you can slot together like kilometer-sized lego

Afaik it is planned exactly as you say
You can build stations (out of modules?)
Colonize empty star systems and fortify them as you wish

Very good HOTAS joystick, not too expensive but very capable and the hotas of choice for 3out of3 joystick using friends of mine ^^
