Re: Kerbal Space Program

Iiiinteresting reading, ta' for that. I managed to get the boys to and from Duna, but I decided against landing; I wasn't sure I could get the lander back up into orbit, plus I spent a lot of fuel entering Duna orbit and didn't want to risk it. I might care a bit too much for my Kerbals. Can a...

I know that feeling well!

I'd like to see ye olde floating wrecks, they'd just have to be very rare.

Re: Kerbal Space Program

Yeah, the bug's still there, but luckily I don't need 100% thrust... The solids compensate at low altitude. And, yes! It does use ONION staging (learn something new every day!) at least until it gets to the inner 5 Mainsails. I never thought of feeding fuel between the inner and outer rockets (duhhh...

Re: Kerbal Space Program

I've done it before, but to increase the durability of the rocket I just stuck the fuels tanks together. That way it doesn't do anything kerbal on launch  Here's a Helios VI-C preparing for launch! http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c369/HowSerendipitous/screenshot128_zps3985075e.png [/url]

Re: Kerbal Space Program

Certainly not that many! 9 mainsails, 4 of which are dropped off at about 10,000 metres, plus a couple o' solid boosters and some small drop tanks. The fuel system is a bit wacky in that the middle mainsail runs out before the rest, but there's not much I can do there... The alternative is having th...

Re: Kerbal Space Program

I think the lander might struggle a little bit! Those radial engines I see might be too overpowered and not very fuel efficient. My base used 8 LV-909's and even though it didn't have enough fuel to get back into orbit (not intended to) those little engines (50 kN thrust each) has enough thrust to ...

Re: Kerbal Space Program

I loves the albums, though it does show I've got a way to go with my rockets. 8-) I think tonight's entertainment is going to be the long awaited Duna mission. The Helios rocket I reckon will be unmodified, though I'd quite like a few extra fuel tanks as I think the lander might struggle a little bit!

Re: Kerbal Space Program

There are some fantastic guides on the Kerbal Space Program forum (I think they might've been down earlier), or have a poke around Youtube. Scott Manley's videos are meant to be good and I found one called Flight of the Munitar to be especially helpful when taking my first steps. Aye, yes. I've see...

Re: Kerbal Space Program

Thanks for posting about this game, I've just purchased my copy and am eager to get launching... :D ...some 20 tries later I've only managed to put a satellite into a decaying orbit around Kerbin. LMAO. There are some fantastic guides on the Kerbal Space Program forum (I think they might've ...

Re: Kerbal Space Program

Heheh, thanks. It was a tough ride, but it went alright in the end. Could've been a lot more fuel efficient if I actually knew what I was doing, but the ship seems solid. Maybe I'll actually reach Duna next time. ;) That's a great gallery! I've never actually managed to make a viable space place at ...

Re: Kerbal Space Program

So getting home'll be tonight's entertainment.... Wish me luck! 8-) Guys, I really enjoy reading your adventures in KSP, really! Please consider making some more albums :D Must admit I've never tried to create an Imgur album... I'll give it a crack next mission. Maybe. So what happened to Bo...

Re: Kerbal Space Program

Well I *tried* to get to Duna. Whoops! Duna's the OTHER way! Nice pic!!! Well you can always opt to land on Gilly. Eve if you don't intend to ever leave. Hehehehe, yeah, the plan is to do a nice flyby then head back to Kerbin. I spent a lot of fuel mucking around trying to ge...
