Re: Design flaw in intel processors...

On the premise that I am no expert... I understand that all CPUs work -fundamentally- in the same way, even though manufacturers end up using different architectures. (correct me where I am wrong, of course) So, what I do *not* understand is HOW can different CPUs (built by different companies that ...

Re: Design flaw in intel processors...

I think I will hold onto my actual CPU for as much as I can. Since these flaws appear to be transversal to manufacturers there just is no good choice to make for the time being :-/ Of course the very next set of processors is going to come out with bells, whistles, and every special turned ON, all s...

Re: Design flaw in intel processors...

I do not understand which Intel processors this applies to. If it is written somewhere, I fail to see it  -fox Long story short: all of them At least the ones built in the last ten years. Well then, my CPU was officially presented on 8 January 2007, which makes its design 11 years old...

Re: My historic mailbox is about to shut down

I use Thunderbird, fox. I even went as far as making a donation to its continued development and will probably make additional donations. Edit: To be more precise I'm using Thunderbird Beta. Hi Victor, the more I use Thunderbird the more I like it and now I coordinate all my mailboxes with ...

Re: My historic mailbox is about to shut down

I used Thunderbird for quite a few years, and always liked it. Can't recall why I switched to my ISP's webmail, but lately I've been thinking of switching back to Thunderbird. Thing is, I believe Mozilla have stopped development and are looking to offload it. Hi Cody, perhaps it was because, when y...

Hi all, I apologize for replying only now. Yesterday, after changing the e-mail address linked to this account, I was unable to log back in because the reactivation e-mail would not show up. Looks like it appeared this morning, more than 20 hours late (according to the e-mail's Sent timestamp). Besi...

My historic mailbox is about to shut down

Not that this is of concern to any of you, I understand. After over 22 years of honored service my oldest mailbox is about to close. Today they sent me a communication in which they inform all users of their impending switch to premium e-mail accounts. Free e-mails will be no more, and those account...

The ships in the original Elite (1984) were nearly all named after snakes.
Thanks, they are probably unrelated then.
Original Falcon is from 1984 as well. Even if Braben and Bell had played it (during their time at Cambridge Uni), it is unlikely that the title could influence them to that point.

Re: Elite Dangerous

The reason why I am unconcerned by a "dead" universe, by "boring" gameplay, by a "lack of things to do" is because I derive 90% of my Elite enjoyment just from flying the ship. The mere action of controlling a spacecraft is so fun that nothing else really matters. :D (and I think I've mentioned thi...

Re: Skyrim

Yep, only one companion, I'm also playing on legendary, it wouldn't be fair otherwise. That's even more impressive and a real challenge! I like a team of about four or five which makes it more like one of the older games I used to play called Baldur's Gate. I've no plans concerning the number of se...
