Re: Generation Ship

With fallback to canvas if WebGL isn't supported. If Tal's stuff is anything to go by, canvas seems to lose the "reasonably fast" trait. :ghost: Canvas is *NOT* at all fast. So yes, you lose 99% of the performance, or more. But basically everything that supports canvas at all supports WebGL now too...

Re: The End

133 days since "The end" post. Has anyone heard anything from Josh? What's he up to, what's he doing? Releasing the codes isn't going to do me any favors I couldn't code my way out of a wet paper sack. But I am curious as to what is actually going on. Is he still alive, is he still on planet Earth?...

Re: Generation Ship

I like the idea of a crew drifting in the dark for a thousand years. Personally, I would give the players a budget, from which they design a starship. This makes the starship "yours" in a way that a generic ship wouldn't be. Provide some premade options to allow for new players. The ship design give...

of course, but thats optional If you are doing a cultural combat style, It'd make it pretty mandatory, combine it with subversive options, like spies and religious conversion attempts... Banning population migration with a neighbour will greatly restrict their efforts to culturally dominate your worlds.

Re: Stellaris

So, basically you are advocating the growth/exchange of culture between different empires?
That'd work, but it'd need to alter how pops migrate a lot, and only work for non-hiveminds.

Re: Stellaris

On the first point: yes you could take over systems without fighting for them. That meant that empires could be sniped by spamming border growth techs and bonuses. Which is *NOT* a good thing, it meant that, without actually projecting force, you could conquer space from another player, including (p...

Re: Stellaris

Just started a game again. They have removed the Tiles on the planet, replacing it with a pretty confusing alternative menu. There is no attachment to the planet and its inhabitants. Its only numbers and lists now. Also the borders of an empire now only grow for every "dominated" system / a system ...

Guys, let's chill here, okay? There's no reason to sling insults. I think we're all in agreement about the majority of the points being made over the past week. We're on the same side. Let's stay friendly, all right?
B..but... Insults are !!FUN!!

Re: Procedural Greeble

... A Necro'd Necro. Fun. But as for the image in question. http://i.imgur.com/vVwOcba.jpg There is such a thing as a noise to information ratio. And in this specific one, the noise is WAY high, we get very little information about the shape here, and this means that it's over greebled Objectively. ...
