as a star trek game you could play together, I could recommend star trek online. I know, I know, it's not a good firsty and an mmo, but it has some interesting quests and the flying around and shooting things is actual fun ... and times better than the last star trek game if you ask me ... and hey, ...

It won't connect to the global server, at least not if discovery hasn't added an alternative list server, because the global list server has been taken down years ago.
