Re: Website-driven corporations with social elements

Hmm... Not sure what I would use it for, but since it is completely community built, I'm not against it at all. One cool idea I had was to be able to share blueprint designs and star maps. There can be whole communities who help each other find great strategies, designs, and tactics. That could ess...

Re: starmap export

As to starmaps, I don't really care one way or another if they are exportable, its not my playstyle. I'm in the same boat as you, to a degree, but I think it could be useful for some to plan things outside the game. But that isn't something I'd do, I like a barrier between my online and offline exp...

Re: Asteroid fields as natural barriers to large ships.

But asteroids and other large bodies (planets) are static. I think this is for the best, I can't imagine how many extra calculations would be needed for an asteroid field to have 100 asteroids flying around at different trajectories, and the engine having to generate more as others fly too far out ...

Re: A Reconstruction on Destruction Mechanic

*snip* To explain this i'd make in-universe time faster. So that 1hour of RL gameplay equates to 1 LT day. So while it takes an hour of gameplay to build an big ship, in the universe it takes a full day. No! 1 h gameplay = 1 h LT time. Stuff happens faster because of technology. In the far future w...

Oh lord.

The one with the sinking ship?
Nope, the Mother's Day cake one.

Re: starmap export

This is indeed what I had in mind, though I usually try to plant a seed and see what ideas pop out of it. Same here, I try things like scientific names, latin proverbs, and the name of my deceased pets to see what they can bring to different universes. Except that last bit. Hey, cool. What about ex...

Re: What is culture?

It is funny to think about how what many people consider to be 'cultured' is, at a base level, a minority trying to establish feelings of supremacy. Circumstantial, granted, but applicable to many. That's my view anyway, obvious the actual term 'culture' itself is applicable differently, but when re...

Re: X Rebirth

For what it's worth, the 2.0 patch seems to rework the highways with mostly positive feedback on the beta forums so far. Also, there are reports that the combat is actually somewhat challenging when the game is played on "hard" difficulty (which it will include). This patch will probably be worth c...

Re: X Rebirth

I need to wait for a few reviews after that patch goes public. However if that is true it looks like I will go ahead and purchase it. I am going to wait through the summer sale tho to see if it goes on sale. They would be absolute fools not to do atleast a 50 percent sale during that event. Some pe...
