Re: Fallout 4

Something odd occurred to me today. With Starfield probably being released in 2019-2020, that likely puts the release date for The Elder Scrolls VI somewhere around 2024-2025... and that in turn probably means the next (real) Fallout game doesn't show up until A.D. 2030. 15 years after Fallout 4. Li...

Re: Underworld Ascendant

Oh my god. Oh my god. I hate to be a pessimist, as I was an extremely enthusiastic fan of both original Ultima Underworlds, (Rest assured, I am dramatically under-exaggerating that statement. If there was merchandise, I would eat it. You are what you eat, after all. Sorry, got a little carried away...

Re: Skyrim

You should use the FullScene AntiAliasing filter from the game. And you should also use the AntiAlias Transparency from the nVidia control panel. Set both to the same strength (4x in my case -- You go to 8x if you can handle it, why not?) There is no FullScene Antialiasing option available for Skyr...

Re: Skyrim

OK, you got me curious. :D I've tried some of these -- in particular, in the game I turned off antialiasing, and in the nVidia Control Panel I'm using Anisotropic filtering = 16x, Antialiasing-FXAA = On, and Antialiasing-Transparency = 8x (supersample) -- and I think I'm seeing a visible improvement...

Re: Underworld Ascendant

Underworld Ascendant is set for public release on November 15, 2018, for PC, and in 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch. (Mac and Linux releases are also being worked on -- no date announced for them, but I'd guess early 2019.) Here's a peek at the trailer from August 20: lOBK9_7eAJA The te...

Re: Anno

Solid info -- thank you both! Their climate messaging was undercut a bit by the fact that the super not-environmentally-friendly dudes ended up with the best environmental control hardware, while the climate-friendly hippy faction, while producing less pollution, was also pretty terrible at managing...

Re: Anno

"union members" for testing? Like, QA workers of the world, unite? Or more like organized labor getting to approve/disapprove of how economics is simulated in the game? At any rate, I've heard interesting things about the Anno series, though it seems to be more popular in Europe than the U.S. (That'...

Re: CyberPunk 2077

CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 . BethSoft's Starfield . OtherSide's System Shock 3 . I am looking forward to these SO much right now. Each of them seems like it will showcase the state of the art in what PC games could have become if consoles hadn't taken over around A.D. 2000. And also notice that...
