So, what now?
Well, I will prepare the source code for release. It's not a working game, and in my frenzy to get things working I've left huge swaths of code in a half-refactored or half-complete state. But releasing it is the least I can do. I don't imagine it will be of any use to anyone, other than as a monument to a failed dream. Perhaps those who are interested in game engines will glean a thing or two from the engine, as it is a fairly solid piece of engineering, much more solid than the Lua game code.

In regards to Josh: It's been a while since I've heard from him. Don't really know how he's doing. Hope he's all right, though. As far as I see it, he just bit off more than he could chew - no surprise given the scope of the project and how it ballooned. I just hope his failure didn't shatter his bold, idealistic, driven nature.rickisen wrote: ↑Sat Sep 29, 2018 5:03 amWell even if the project didn't complete it managed to change my life. Thinking you might be right... just to be safe. That's a big undertaking though. The payment date is somewhere around September, if I remember correctly, and that's come and gone for this year without a hiccup.

Nope, don't have the rights. I'm not sure I actually have the ability to change anything on the site at all, much less database access.

... Why not? I can blame him for that... He said he would do something and then didn't do it. And unlike the game itself which he truly tried to do but could not finish. All he has to do is go to his GitHub repo or whatever, set it to public, write a one paragraph blurb along with the link and post it here and walk away and then choose to ghost this place. A whopping 5 minutes of effort tops.CRZgatecrusher wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 6:15 pmwell we know he's probably not coming back (and I cannot blame him at all for that).

Yep! And the IRC-community-turned-discord-community plays D&D every Saturday. And I'm writing a tabletop corebook for the RPG I made for the forums. We're not just alive - we show no signs of stopping anytime soon.
